September 1, 2005

- We have decided to have Images in Stone - Detroit. The First 300 Years print-ready by the beginning of October and available by November 2005.

- The list of buildings included in the book has been updated (also indicating, where there is still basic text missing). We are still looking for contributors of info text and stories to "spice up" the text. If you know anybody, who knows stories about any of the sites, please help us to contact these individuals.

- We are trying to raise money to defray the printing costs of the book, which are ,000 (Coffee Table Book, 8 1/2"x11" heavy weight glossy paper). PLEASE HELP US RAISE SOME FUNDS! We are at ,500 at this point and still need another ,500. Every little bit helps. There are still drawings available for adoption We are also looking for organizations which would like to pre-order books for .00/book (wholesale).

October 12, 2005

  • The 44 drawings are completed! We are hitting the last phase of the project: Collecting writing/text, editing and layout. There have been quite a few people who responded to our quest for text contribution. Thank you! Until October 24 (ultimate deadline!!!!!) more stories/historical background knowledge contributions are still welcome (e.g. the Soupkichen was called the Jackpot during Prohibition. Several operations had been planned in there). We are hoping to be able to get the book to the printer by the end of October.
  • We got an article about Images in Stone in the Metro Times (THANKS REBECCA!!!!!!!). Check out the link: http://www.metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=8337
  • We are selling the smaller drawings now for and up (framed), to help with the printing costs. They will be more after the book is out. If there is a drawing of your organization please consider buying it. If you know someone of an organization that has been featured, please forward the email.
